Trade Notice No.13/2012 – Service Tax/SH

                                                      Dated Shillong, the 13th August, 2012.

Subject:  EASIEST-Non-Uploading of Challan Data into NSDL Website after receipt of EASIEST Payments by 59 Unathourised branches of SBI-regarding.

            Attention of the members of Trade, Industry and all others concerned are hereby invited to the following:-

            D.G.(Systems) & Data Management, Central Excise & Customs, Chennai have received complaints from the field formation that easiest payments made at one of the branches of SBI were not accounted for in the NSDL website i,e such challan data not uploaded in the website.

1.      The matter was examined and found that in respect of 59 branches of SBI, the bank did not upload challan data into the NSDL website due to the fact that such branches were not authorized and their BSR codes were not found in the NSDL website. The matter was pursued with the Pr. CCA, CBEC, New Delhi and consequently, a one-time authorization to those 59 branches were issued so that challan receipts up to 31-3-2012 by such branches could be uploaded into the NSDL website.

2.      As per the list received from DG, Systems, Chennai, two branches viz. Kohima (Collecting Branch Code-0000214) and Mokokchung (Collecting Branch Code-0001193) are found as unauthorized branch. All Trade concerned and Departmental Officers are requested to avoid remitting easiest payment in these branches of SBI, failing which such challans would not be accounted for/ uploaded into NSDL, thereby hampering scrutiny of returns in ACES Application and also affect the revenue reporting in the NSDL website. A list of authorized branches/banks for accepting the easiest payments are available in the PAO’s Website (http://pccacbec.nic.in).
